POM Key Properties

  • Basso costo: Rispetto ad altri componenti in polimero, il POM è molto conveniente, rendendolo il materiale perfetto per applicazioni che richiedono un alto volume di componenti. Alta rigidità e resistenza: Il POM ha un alto modulo di elasticità, il che significa che è rigido e fornisce un buon supporto strutturale. Ha inoltre una buona resistenza alla trazione, che lo rende resistente a rotture o crepe sotto tensione. Basso attrito e resistenza all’usura: Il POM ha un’ottima resistenza all’usura, il che lo rende adatto per applicazioni con parti scorrevoli o rotanti. Ha anche un basso coefficiente di attrito, che significa che può scorrere facilmente contro altri materiali.

  • Alta resistenza alla fatica: Il POM ha un’eccellente resistenza alla fatica, quindi può sopportare cicli ripetuti di sollecitazione senza perdere le sue proprietà meccaniche. Eccellente stabilità dimensionale: Il POM assorbe poca acqua ed è altamente resistente al fenomeno dello “scorrimento” (creep), quindi mantiene forma e dimensioni nel tempo. Ha inoltre una bassa dilatazione termica, il che significa che non si espande o contrae significativamente con i cambiamenti di temperatura. Resistenza chimica: Il POM è altamente resistente a una vasta gamma di sostanze chimiche, tra cui alcoli, aldeidi, esteri e molti acidi e basi. Questo lo rende adatto per ambienti difficili dove l’esposizione a sostanze chimiche è una preoccupazione.

  • Proprietà di isolamento elettrico: Il POM è un eccellente isolante e possiede una buona resistenza dielettrica, rendendolo adatto per applicazioni elettriche che richiedono elevate proprietà isolanti.
